Jaguar Stuff – 1965 Mk II

We restored a 1965 Mk II and showed it in 1997 in then class 16.  Drove to St Louis, Louisville and Baton Rouge and the combined score was 3rd nation wide in JCNA.  We have sold the car to a good home.  It was all a wonderful interlude in our lives. A few pictures below:

Buffed the aluminum more than once, then used Eastwood clear and has lasted years. Can see fuses, steering pump and res, AC dryer and left side heat shield. Can't see alternator.

Can't see, but we put a piece on the bulkhead to help with noise

Can’t see, but we put a piece on the bulkhead to help with noise.  All polyurethane suspension and steering bushings fantastically improve handling but make for more body rumble.  Even motor mounts and sway bar are poly.

Most of the features are mentioned in captions.  Should point out that the transmission is a series 1 XJ-6 that I imported and had Quantum Mechanics overhaul – OD clutches and all (pressure regulated for positive shifts – no “sliding in”).  The original Moss goes with the sale.  Same with the air cleaner and transition, rear springs, old radio and front steering.
